    NEW:

    Asian Pacific Fund Scholarship has a deadline of February 24th. Incoming or current college student of any ethnic background. Must plan to be enrolled full time in the fall. Minimum of 3.0 GPA and be a citizen or permanent resident unless otherwise stated.

    A reminder to seniors that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid deadline for Cal Grant consideration is March 2nd. Completing the FAFSA is free and quick, and it gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school. Visit fafsa.ed.gov to apply.

    Attention students: Grand Canyon University will be visiting Vanden on Wednesday, March 1st. GCU is a private, faith-based University in Phoenix, Arizona. GCU programs include Nursing, Business, Education and Engineering. GCU is a growing campus with state of the art academic, housing and athletic facilities. Interested students can sign up in the Counseling Office. Space is limited.

    Did you know that enough plastic is thrown away each year to circle the earth four times? It’s time for this to change. The Environmental Club meets Wednesdays at lunch and Fridays after school in room S-5. See you there!

    Students interested in Cheerleading for next year; there will be a mandatory meeting for parents/cheerleaders on Tuesday, March 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the Little Theater. Please mark your calendars for this important meeting.

    Ticket sales will begin in March for the Junior/Senior prom. Best price dates for seniors will be March 20th and 21st and for juniors March 22nd and 23rd. Posters will be around campus for exact prices. Don’t wait because prices will go up each week and Prom usually sells out. Prom will be held on Saturday, April 29th in Sacramento at the Library Galleria.

    Attention Senior parents your help is needed.  The Sober Grad Committee will have a meeting TONIGHT, (Tuesday, February 21st), at 6:30 pm at the Round Table pizza in the Raley's shopping.  We look forward to seeing you there.

    Seniors have you heard of Assist-A-Grad? A representative will be available to answer questions and help with the application process during lunch every Thursday in February outside the Counseling office. These are scholarships provided by local community members. Application packets are due March, 1 2017.

    The City of Vacaville has started accepting applications for Recreation Specialists in our Community Services Department. Applications for summer positions should be received by Feb. 27th. Students can apply at www.cityofvacaville.com/jobs.

    REVISITED:

    PSAT paper score reports are now available for students who took the fall PSAT. Reports will be available in the Counseling office before school, at lunch, and after school until 3:30. Remember online scores can be linked to Khan Academy for personalized SAT practice. Follow the link on the Counseling web page under SAT/ACT Testing Information.

    Hey Vikes: Just wanted to let you know that the tutoring center has now moved to the Student Commons, which is the old library. Tutoring is available Monday through Thursday after 6th and Tuesdays and Thursdays after 7th.
